Idea Visualisation
AIM
The Idea visualization tool helps teams create visual representations of their project, service, or product, usually called “Hero Shots”. These visuals help us communicate the project’s value and context of use in a clear and relatable way, allowing stakeholders, users, or potential partners to picture themselves engaging with and benefiting from the offering.
The tool asks teams to create two types of hero shots.
1. Hero Shot of the Product or Service Itself:
This is a styled visual or photo representation of the main product, service, or offer. It should clearly communicate the value of what you are providing. Examples include:
-
A physical product, such as a piece of equipment or tool. E.g.: sustainable camping gear.
-
A digital interface, like a website landing page or app mock-up. E.g.: a digital interface of an educational game.
-
A snapshot of the key value of an experience. E.g.: the menu of a sustainable seafood dining experience (see image).
2. Hero Shot in the Context of Use:
This visual places your product, service or experience within its intended environment, showing extra info like scale or intended use. Examples include:
-
A person using sustainable camping gear in a forest. E.g. collecting rainwater with it.
-
Kids using an educational game to learn about conservation in a classroom. E.g.: interaction with the teacher and the digital platform.
-
A symbolic representationof the impact of your project. E.g.: an image of sustainable fishing communities and thriving marine ecosystems as a consequence.
STEPS
-
Define Your Offer: Identify the product, service, or value you want to communicate. What do you want people to understand or feel when they see the image?
-
Visualize Impact: Brainstorm the most effective way to represent the offer and its use. Focus on clarity, relatability, and emotional connection (but keep it real!).
-
Capture or Design the Shots: Create the two visuals—one showing the product/service and the other showcasing it in action or delivering its value in context.
-
By creating these two types of hero shots, teams can effectively communicate their project’s value, helping audiences not only understand the offer but also see its tangible impact in real-world contexts.
If your team doesn’t have drawing or design expertise, AI tools can be a fantastic way to craft high-quality hero shots quickly and effectively. E.g.: Describe your educational game about conservation, and the AI can generate an image of children engaging with it in a classroom.
